About me
Kwe', Teluisi Mairi Denny,
I am a Mi’kmaw woman from Eskasoni First Nation in Nova Scotia. I began beading in 2022 and quickly fell in love with the craft. I enjoy creating beadwork as it is healing however I also sell my art and help others through my work. Alongside that, I design bead sets, laser-engraved cabochons, wooden displays, and other wood-based pieces.
My business, Kmu’j Designs, reflects this focus, as “Kmu’j” translates to “Wood” in Mi’kmaw. Much of my work is rooted in combining beadwork with natural materials such as wood and sweetgrass to create pieces that are both meaningful and unique.
